Temporarily switch-adapt simple battery operated toys
This small lead temporarily 'adapts' toys or other battery powered devices. The interrupter is inserted into the battery compartment to break the electrical circuit. Plug any standard switch (such as a Jelly Bean) into the socket on the interrupter lead. When you press the switch, it is like turning the toy on. The user generally needs to hold the switch down for the toy to continue working ("momentary" switch control).
The Battery Compartment Interrupter only works for simple battery toys that have one action. Toys that work "out of the box" with an ON/Off switch are usually compatible. Interrupters do not work with toys that are activated by pressing different parts of the toy. For example, it will not work with Elmo toys that work by squeezing the hand, foot etc. These toys can be adapted, but have more complex circuits, so they need to be modified by a technician.
