The Bed Pad sensor (76cm x 25cm) is placed on top of the mattress under the bedding across the bed at about kidney level. When the client gets up from the bed, a pager alarm is triggered to alert the carer.
The Bed Pad is connected via a special interface to an Apollo transmitter. When the patient gets out of bed, the Apollo Pager receiver carried by the carer will beep and vibrate to sound the alert. There is virtually no sound from the transmitter. The transmitter requires 3AAA batteries, the receiver requires 1 x AA battery and the interface is powered by a plug pack. Two plug packs are now supplied with the kit , recommended for the receiver. The pager has an excellent range of up to 300 metres, suitable in most homes, group homes or aged care facilities.
