This quick and easy to use tool can help determine how a big call button, bed exit alarm or other special accessibility device should be wired to suit your call system.  Many hospitals and nursing homes have call systems that incorporate a 6mm stereo jack at the call point to plug in the patient call buzzer.  Although this is the most common jack used for nurse call points there is no consistency in how the systems are wired. This makes it difficult to connect big 'Jellybean' buttons, bed alarms, floor alarms, etc. as these need to be wired to suit each individual call system.

Use our Nurse Call Test Box in any nurse call system that has the 6mm jack at the call point

  1. Try each of the three 6mm stereo plugs in your system

  2. Press the 'Test' button note which of the three plugs activates the call

  3. Record which lead works your system. TIP/RING, TIP/SLEEVE or RING/SLEEVE

  4. provide this information to Technical Solutions Australia when ordering and we can supply the correct cable to allow you to plug in your Floor Sensor Mat, Bed Exit Alarm, Chair Exit Alarm or Special Access Switch (Call Button).
