Solutions’ radio pager is a simple, portable system that can be used to
alert a carer when a person needs assistance. A short press of the user’s switch sends a normal CALL, while a longer sustained switch press activates an escalated call (ASSIST) to communicate more urgent assistance is needed. This can be pre-set to give different alerts on the one pager receiver, or to send an ASSIST alert to a different group of receivers.
Here are three possible ASSIST scenarios:
- Manual escalation by client - Long press their Jellybean switch for a more urgent call
- Manual escalation by carer - Press ASSIST button to alert other staff that extra help is needed
- Auto escalation - Send ASSIST if a CALL has not been cancelled after a pre-set time (In situations where the client has activated the CALL but no one has attended)
Multiple transmitters can communicate with one or more pager receivers, making the system expandable for use in SIL group homes and larger situations. Text messages can be pre-programmed to communicate with suitable pager receivers to identify individual call points.
The transmitter has a strong open air radio range in excess of 300m, reducing with obstacles and interference. Standby battery life is better than 9 months with a set of fresh 2 x AA Alkaline batteries. (Frequent use will reduce the battery life)
