SS-CLICK
The Sound Click Switch is special version of our Sound Switch Pro
which uses 3 short “clicks” to activate a call system or alert. It was
developed for a client with a tracheotomy who was unable to verbally
to call for assistance, and could make click sounds with his mouth.

Operation

The Sound Click Switch (SCS) constantly monitors for short sharp
sounds (such as clicks) and if three distinct clicks are detected within a
short time the unit will trigger an assistance call via its output lead. This
could be any of our free-standing call systems or plug into a hospital
call system via a suitable adaptor lead.
The sensitivity or loudness of the clicks and the length of the listening
window can be easily adjusted.
3 LEDs show the status of each click and when sound is detected.
Continuous sound will also trigger a call as a safety measure. This
means the SCS is not suitable for noisy environments. There must be a
quiet background threshold where the user’s clicks stand out for this
system to work.
The Sound Click Switch can also be triggered by an external push
button switch.
